TGI-FriYAY Series: Thai Self-Massage and Movement with Linda Baron, LMT, C-IAYT
In-Studio & Online
Friday, May 29 from 5:30pm-7:00pm
This 90-minute experience is designed to teach you how to ease your own aches and pains using the traditional self-care system developed by the Reusi (“seers” or sages regarded as masters of traditional medicine) in ancient Thailand. Just like Yoga in India, the Thai people have an ancient self-care practice called Reusi Dat Ton (ฤาษีดัดตน), which translates roughly as "Sage's Self-Stretching". It combines breathwork, meditation, self-massage, postures and exercises to reduce stress and treat body aches, and improve circulation, strength, flexibility and overall health and vitality.
Each class in this 4-part series* will incorporate centering, 30 minutes of accessible yoga-like movement in the Reusi Dat Ton tradition, ~50 minutes of instruction in self Thai massage for your body from head to feet, and savasana. The components of self-massage include compression, joint mobilization, and stretching. Those attending in person may opt in or out of receiving hands-on feedback from Linda.**
This class is appropriate for all levels. No prior yoga or Thai massage experience is needed!
Offered In-Studio AND Online (Hybrid), with Recording Option available thru Sunday night. Use your regular class pass or membership to drop in!
*This class will also be offered on July 10, August 7, and September 4
