In the United States, nearly 10% of all adults, approximately 6 million people aged 65 and older, have dementia. Being diagnosed with or caring for a loved one with dementia can be incredibly challenging without the proper treatment, resources, and assistance. Though there is no cure, there are tools and support available to help slow the progression of this disease and to enhance quality of care and life for both caregivers and those diagnosed.
This workshop will examine dementia through the lens of yoga therapy, and offer tools to target its symptoms while providing educational resources aimed at inhibiting disease progression.
Yoga Therapist and research interventionist Jayshree Surage will provide a safe, evidence-based practice, stemming from her current research work at the University of Arizona. If you would like more information about this workshop or would like to speak with Jayshree directly prior to enrolling, please contact her at jayshreesurage@gmail.com.
