TGI-FriYAY Series: Stitching Sangha with Pam Kaufman, C-IAYT

TGI-FriYAY Series: Stitching Sangha with Pam Kaufman

In-Studio Only
Friday, May 15 from 5:30pm-7:00pm

Join our inaugural meeting of the Stitching Sangha! May’s topic: RITUAL.
Sangha is a Sanskrit term meaning association or assembly, traditionally referring to ordained monastics. But here in the West and for our purposes, it is used to mean a community or group that provides support, connection and shared purpose. Our plan is to meet every 4-6 weeks or so, on a Friday and/or Sunday.

This gathering will include:

  • an abbreviated and accessible yoga practice to unwind from the week and prepare the body and mind to sit and knit (or cross-stitch, crochet, embroider, macrame, whatever you do!);

  • a group discussion to cultivate community and explore your own rituals AND challenges with your chosen craft, and how to make it even more holistic and Zen; followed by

  • time to work on the fiber art project of your choice, with periodic pauses to incorporate the mindfulness tools of guided meditation and breathwork.

The class is appropriate for yoga practitioners of all experience levels, who already have basic needleworking skills; BYO projects and materials. Want to learn to knit or crochet, so you can join our sangha in the future? LET US KNOW! We’re also considering a 101 session to help you get crafty.

Offered In-Studio Only. Use your regular class pass or membership to drop in!
Class also offered TBA.
